The ruins of a medieval fortress, perched on a hillside overlooking the town of Janowice, used to guard both historical trade routes leading past its foothill as well as the local people working as metal ore miners. Despite its great fortifying qualities, the castle was burned down during the Thirty Years’ War and has never regained its splendor. Nowadays, the picturesque ruins and views from the castle walls are frequently visited by tourists and locals alike.
