You should walk the church around. Behind it, there is a small park with a disused churchyard cemetery now functioning as a kind of a lapidary. Apart from the 17th and 19th century tombstones and tombs of important citizens of the city, you can also find a monument commemorating the victims of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. Curiously enough, two soldiers and the army of the Kingdom of Prussia and two of the Austrian Empire troops were buried in a common grave under the Geneva Convention adopted two years earlier. Two of them were of Polish origin. A plaque commemorating the residents Kowary who died during the fighting and battles of World War II was also moved to the cemetery. This memorial, originally attached to the pedestal of the monument standing at the square behind the Town Hall in Kowary until 1945, was found a few years ago during excavations in the city centre. Today, it is another exhibit of the churchyard lapidary.
