The Karkonosze Museum in Jelenia Góra
The Karkonosze Museum exhibits a rich collection of objects connected with the culture and history of the Karkonosze Mountains, the Polish-Czech borderland and the Lower Silesia. The Museum distinguishes itself especially by the collection of artistic glass – the biggest one in Poland. This collection arouses a considerable interest among the visitors from all over Europe. The permanent exhibitions include such elements as touch screens, movies, multimedia games and a special children’s corner where they can see the comics on the history of Jelenia Góra. Another interesting element of the permanent historical exhibition is the multimedia map of Jelenia Góra, showing how the town was changing through the ages, on the basis of numerous pictures, from the old engravings to the contemporary photos.
